WHAT IS IT?
Augmentation Zygomaplasty also known as Cheek Augmentation is a plastic surgery that mainly focus on reshaping the face contour of patients who are unsatisfied with their volumes of cheekbones. Cheekbones may be volume-less or may lose volume over time as the adipose tissues under the cheekbones slide down and the tissues under the skin get weakened due to ageing, gravity, or congenital factors. Weak and volume-less cheekbones cause people look older than they are. Various methods can be used for cheek augmentation.
WHO NEEDS IT?
- Patients with volume-less cheekbones and a face looking older and hollow
ANESTHESIA METHOD
- Local Anesthesia (This method can be used in fat injection operation)
- General Anesthesia (This method is mainly used in prosthesis surgeries)
HOW IS IT PERFORMED?
- Fat transplantation: Patient’s own fat is taken from the patient’s own body and is injected to the cheekbone.
- Implant: In-mouth excision method is used to implant the prosthesis on the cheekbones.
- Rhytidoplasty or lifting: An incision is made on the scalp.
- Temporary filling materials: Remains effective for 6 to 12 months.
CHEEK AUGMENTATION RECOVERY
- The patient can return to work in 1 to 2 days. (Except for the Implant method)
- Face may have redness and bruises following the implant operation. It takes nearly 2 weeks for recovery.
- The patient can return to work in 4 to 5 days following the implant operation.
