Augmentation Mammoplasty also known as Breast Augmentation is expanding the size of the breasts with several methods in women. With this surgery, breasts can be enlarged and the size and position can be beautified.

HOW IS IT PERFORMED?

• Enlarging the breast with protheses: Silicone protheses are round or drop-shaped. The fillings in the protheses: Silicon gel(solid), normal saline(salted water), or filling containing both. Outer surface of the silicon protheses can be full of knobs or smooth. Where are they fixed? Through papilla, the curvy bottom part of the breast, arm pit or belly-button. Protheses can be fixed under the breast tissue or muscle tissue or under the muscle membrane. The women who have that kind of surgery can have a normal pregnancy period,breast-feed her baby cause the silicone is fixed under milk glands. Breast silicon protheses don’t cause cancer. It is confirmed by American FDA. Silicone doesn’t burst during daily sports activities, sharp instruments can be harmful. If it is not wanted for any reason, it can be removed under local anasthesia.

• Enlarging the breast with fat-injection: In this method, the fat taken from the patient through liposuction is injected to the breast.

• Composite breast enlargement: Protheses and fat-injection are applied at the same time. If the breast tissue of the patient is not sufficient to cover the protheses, after fixing the protheses, by injecting fat to the contours of the breast with a canulla, the breast can be shaped.

BREAST AUGMENTATION RECOVERY

• Patients shouldn’t lift their arms up and carry heavy things for 3 weeks.
• It is suggested they lie down on their back for 1 month.
• After the surgery they should wear sports bra for 1 month.
• They can start work after 1 week.
