Browpexy is a Brow Lift surgery which is performed to correct the sagging brows over the eyelids. The reasons for the sagging of brows include the gravity, ageing, congenital conditions, facial palsy, previous surgeries, malnutrition, distress and smoking. Brow lift surgery can be performed alone or in conjunction with eyelid surgery. The goal is to correct the sagging of brows and the old, tired and sleepy appearance of the face, thereby, to help the patient gain a refreshed look. During consultation with the plastic surgeon, the brow structure that will best fit the patient will be formed and surgery plans will be prepared for application. At this point, it is important to tailor a brow structure that won’t change the facial expression of the patient. For example, when the brow area close to the nose is too much lifted, the patient will gain a sad and startled look. On the contrary, when the brow area close to the ear is too much lifted, the patient will gain a frustrated and nervous look. So the patient needs to deeply analyse the shape of the brows in consultation with the surgeon at the pre-treatment stage.
